A judge issued a late guilty conviction Tuesday for Carolina Panthers’ defensive end Greg Hardy, in Charlotte. The 25-year-old was found guilty of communicating threats and assaulting a female.
Back in May, his ex-girlfriend said the two were arguing over rapper Nelly, with whom she had a brief relationship with. She told police that Hardy became jealous and beat her up.
Hardy has no previous criminal record. His 60 day sentence was suspended and he must serve either 18 months of probation or complete a rehab program. Hardy’s legal team plans to appeal the conviction.
