DeAngelo Williams’ Return to the Field Unknown

The Carolina Panthers are going into Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears with a 2-2 record and a doubtful return of running back, DeAngelo Williams.

Coach Ron Rivera said Williams suffered a foot injury in Sunday’s 38-10 loss at Baltimore. Williams injured his foot early in the second quarter on Sunday when trying to turn the corner on Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith. Rivera said there was no structural damage. Williams was making his first start after missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury.

The Panthers were already without Jonathan Stewart, who did not play Sunday due to a sprained knee against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike Tolbert is on short-term injured reserved with a fractured leg.

“We’re playing two undrafted free agents right now at running back,” Rivera said. “As of right now, Darrin Reaves is our starter.”
