Jameis Winston Student Misconduct Hearing Begins

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A university hearing examining whether Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston violated the school’s student code of conduct has adjourned.

Tuesday’s closed-door hearing adjourned after five hours and will resume Wednesday. It comes roughly two years after a fellow student said Winston sexually assaulting her.

The hearing before a former Florida Supreme Court chief justice is closed to the public and media. It is to determine whether Winston violated four sections of the code of conduct — two for sexual misconduct and two for endangerment.

Winston didn’t answer reporters’ questions as he left the hearing. His attorney, David Cornwell, said the hearing went well.

The accuser’s attorney, John Clune, said as he left the hearing that it was good for the woman to get her side of the story out.
