Casey, Sandy Parsons Arrested on Federal Charges

Casey and Sandy Parsons, the adoptive parents of missing Rowan County teen Erica Parsons, were arrested Wednesday morning on federal fraud charges, law enforcement officials say. Federal agents arrested the two in Fayetteville. The Parsons moved to the area when the investigation into Erica’s disappearance became high profile.

It has been exactly one year since the Salisbury teen’s adoptive brother reported her missing to police. Relatives have not seen her since November of 2011. The federal indictment alleges that the Parsons received benefits once Erica went missing up until it was actually reported. It does not outline their role in her actual disappearance.
