CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A child was struck by lightning in west Charlotte.
It happened Wednesday afternoon on the Johnson C. Smith University campus in the 100 block of Beatties Ford Road.
The victim, a 9-year-old boy, was struck on the track.
Charlotte firefighters and MEDIC responded to the scene. They say he suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and has been taken to CMC. The boy was found unresponsive.
